Youth Update

On September 22nd, we had a Youth Lock-in in the Youth Outpost! We had a group of 10 youth throughout the night and we spent many hours playing sardines and watching movies. We had a great study with Pastor Bob about God’s forgiveness and the legal system- how we govern ourselves and how our decisions will affect us in the future. On October 6th, we had a great Youth Group event at LaserQuest in San Jose. There was a turnout of 20 middle school and high school youth and we had a great time playing laser tag and enjoying pizza.

Throughout the first month of Confirmation and PB&J, we consistently have had a group of 15- 20 youth at each meeting. We have been playing get-to-know-you games and fostering great discussions about our Lord, diving deeper into the meanings of the readings from the service. The youth always have great contributions to the discussions and many of them have prayed on behalf of their fellow youths.

For November, we have a movie night and skit practice planned for Friday, November 3rd and Andy Wadsworth has been working on a great skit for the November 12th, Youth Sunday.

This year, the youth will be heading the homeless packets service project. Starting in November 12th, we will be accepting materials for the packets such as beef jerky, toothbrushes and socks. On December 1st, we will have a “Spaghetti Dinner and Homeless Packet Assembly” youth group event. We are planning to make 100-150 homeless packets and distribute them to the congregation the Sunday following the event. Look for more information in the bulletin, starting in mid-November. Thank you for any contributions!
