Greetings

We have just finished celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends. Hopefully it was a wonderful time for you and everyone. We live in an area of great prosperity, and sometimes it is easy to forget just how fortunate we are. To those that helped putting together the luncheon for Pastor Bob & Amy a very special THANK YOU and also to those who gave to his honorarium. THANK YOU. We are so blesssed to have had their faithful dedication to St. Luke for 20 years.

With Christmas upon us and the birth of Our Savior, who taught us through his love and words to share, II Corinthians 9:7, teaches us: “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver”. This does not only mean monies, but as our young people have shown us through their unselfish example how to give cheerfully by asking for gifts and canned goods for the less fortunate. This was what made November so great. Now in December, they are again showing that love by putting together packages for the homeless. We have amazing young people in this congregation with great leaders in Andy and Faith and the families that help them. To all of them A BIG THANK YOU.

Another item of interest for December is the re-building of the fence around the Amazing Creation’s property. The patch work on the fence is finally starting to show its wear and tear. It is hopeful that this can be done during the Christmas break. Kirk is working with ACP to share the cost of this project. We are hoping that the City of Sunnyvale will sign off on everything so Ron Z. can move ahead with installing a video security system on the Youth Outpost building and debris box area.

This is a very loving and caring church and, as president, my wife and I feel fortunate to be a part of it. A MERRY AND BLESSED CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Peace,
Chuck Wilkening
