Count Your Many Blessings… Once Again

O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever. Psalm 107:1

No Matter what may be going on in your life, giving thanks is a good strategy for helping the situation take a turn for the better. When you are down, being grateful can lift you up. When you are happy, expressing gratitude keeps things in perspective by pointing to God as the source of all blessings. When you are troubled, confused or overwhelmed, thanksgiving can bring clarity and lower your stress.

Jesus had a habit of giving thanks, especially for the ways that he saw the Kingdom of God revealed in people. When Zacchaeus turned his life around Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Jesus was giving thanks for the work of the Spirit in this man whom Jesus loved.

Every day we have the opportunity to see God at work all around us. We have people to interact with, inspiration within, God’s word to read and allow to direct us to Kingdom ways of living. All of these and more are reasons for thanksgiving. Let a song of thanks rise in your hearts. Let it give you energy to bring the Good News of Jesus to many this month with your words and actions. God will be lifted up and people’s burdens will be lightened as you follow Jesus on this joyful path.

25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.

27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11

Let go of that heavy burden you have been carrying and take up with Jesus all his disciples who trust Jesus to provide whatever is needed along the way. We have meaningful work to do before we all meet in heaven. Let’s get to it!

Glad to be sharing this ministry with you,
