Christmas Joy

There are so many things that bring joy at Christmas time: the lights, the presents, Christmas music, movies where there is always a happy ending. Behind all of these relatively superficial triggers for joy is the reality that God is among us. Jesus became a human being so that we could get to know God more deeply than we ever had before. By becoming one of us, Jesus could show us how to live as God intended with compassion for all. By taking up the cross, Jesus became the Savior of the world and now we look to him for forgiveness and life. This Christmas season let’s share the love of Jesus with all those we meet. Let people know what he has done for you and appreciate all those God brings into your life for a moment, a lifetime, or something in between. Our wonderful and gracious God values us enough that Jesus, the Son of God, was sent and born in a stable to Mary and Joseph. May the Spirit help us all to receive the grace of God afresh this Christmas and to extend that same grace to all the world. There is no greater joy than bringing someone the Good News. Christ is born! Hallelujah!
