Happy October! St. Luke’s Sunday School program got off to a great start – our first class on September 16 had 14 children in attendance! The new curriculum has the learning hour (11am-Noon) divided up into four activities – an opening game or song and a prayer, a story-telling session using the Spark Story Bible, a fun craft activity, and a game to close out our time together. The kids like it because their minds and bodies are kept busy the entire time, and the volunteer teachers and youth helpers like it because of the flexibility to choose which activities and which Sundays fit their interests and their schedules.
Lessons from the Spark Story Bible for September covered Creation, Adam and Eve, and The First Sin. Lessons planned for October include Noah’s Ark, Abram’s Call, God’s Promises to Abram, and Abraham and Sarah’s Visitors.
