Have you ever thought, “I wish life were a little less stressful?” Maybe this Lenten season can be a time when you take your stress level down a few notches.
Lately, I have been enjoying a book that Amy passed on to me called “The Soul of Money” by Lynne Twist. This book that is required reading at many of our top universities like Harvard and Stanford has some profound insights for our day.
The author talks about how many of us come at life from a perspective of scarcity. We worry that we haven’t had enough sleep, that we don’t have enough time or money. With that mindset we tend to scramble for more and always feel like we come up short. If we shift to an understanding of the sufficiency of what God has provided then we can relax and, with gratitude, use what we have to make a difference in the world.
