We and our entourage had been traveling for several months. As gazers of the stars and with some knowledge of their meaning we were convinced that the star we were following was a sign that foreshadowed the foretold birth of a Great King of the Hebrews. In preparation for our visit we had packed many precious gifts including expensive perfumes such as myrrh and not just a little gold. Also among our gifts to the King were many varied jewels and rare incense to be burned as we worshiped. I and two of my closest friends that belonged along with me to the Council of Magi led the caravan that included all of the supplies, animals and many paid helpers that we required for the lengthy sojourn. Several in the caravan had taken ill along the way and had to be left at various towns to heal. There were thieves and predators to deal with but we were well armed and up to the task of repelling both. The three of us remained healthy and strong along with most of our travelers and for that we were grateful. The star that led us in our search, a relatively new one in the night sky, was growing brighter each day of travel. Some amoungst us had experienced dreams concerning a new king’s birth and how the timing and place of birth was connected to the appearance of the star.
